Llanidloes and Mid Wales Old Pictures
The Old Market Hall during 18th century. The Market Hall was erected between 1612 and 1622 and is the oldest surviving example of a timber market hall. Some of the timbers are older than the above dates and are thought to have been salvaged from an even older market hall, which is known to have existed in Llanidloes. Summerfield at this stage was not built so picture taken prior to...at the bottom left of the picture on the corner of Great Oak Street and China Street is a barrel, this used to be used to collect urine for the flannel mills.
